CDE affiliates Chao Fu and Jenna Nobles were among the 11 faculty members to receive H. I. Romnes Faculty Fellowships. The award recognizes faculty up to six years past their first promotion to a tenured position and comes with $60,000 in research funds that may be spent over five years.
Three affiliates, Christine Schwartz, Jason Fletcher and Yang Wang were honored during the last year with awards supported by the estate of William F. Vilas.
Schwartz was named Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor, an award recognizing scholarship, teaching, and service. The professorship provides five years of flexible funding. Fletcher received a Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award for research and teaching excellence. Wang received a Vilas Faculty Early Career Investigator Award, which recognizes research and teaching excellence in faculty who are relatively early in their careers. Both awards provide one year of flexible research funding.
