CDE Presentations at PAA 2018

The annual meeting of the Population Association of America (PAA) is the most important annual scientific conference for the dissemination and discussion of new population-related research. Scholars from a range of disciplines come together to share cutting-edge research that addresses today’s most challenging demographic, social, economic, and public health issues. This year’s meetings will take place April 26–28 in Denver under the leadership of CDE alumnus, Wendy Manning, currently serving as PAA president.

Again this year, CDE affiliates will be well represented at PAA: 43 CDE affiliates, including faculty, graduate students, and visiting and postdoctoral scholars are contributing to 79 conference sessions, serving as authors, presenters, discussants, or chairs. We are especially enthusiastic that 23 of our students in the demography training program have sole-authored or collaborative research being presented at oral panels or poster sessions.

On Thursday, April 26, CDE will host a reception for alumni and friends attending PAA. Please stop by Tower Court C of the Sheraton Denver Downtown (1550 Court Place) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to connect with CDE affiliates past and present. Light refreshments will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
